Your Voice, Your Greenford

If you walk down to Greenford today, signs of community activity are present in every corner of the town. Your connections with friends and neighbours can be seen in its many green spaces, the centres that serve as safe havens for all, and the places of worship that strengthen local bonds through tradition and faith.

It’s also clear that you really know how to bring the green to Greenford! It took a well-connected network of allotment holders to turn a piece of barren land into the borough’s first grape orchard, now known as the Grape and Honey Farm. To help support the eco system, local people manage the urban beaver project located in the peaceful setting of Paradise Fields, and volunteers regularly come together to improve the habitat at Costons Lane Nature reserve and Litten Nature Reserve.

Apply Day has become a Greenford tradition, hosted by the community led Friends of Horsenden Farm, it’s now one of many events taking place at the foot of Horsenden Hill; whether you are eating pizza, drinking local ale or walking the Gruffalo trail, every weekend is a fun weekend for all

In Greenford, people are always looking out for one another. The weekly Foodbank hosted by the Shree Jalaram Mandir opens its arms to all, as does Age UK and the British Legion located on the same road. At the Salvation Army you will be greeted with a warm cup of tea and a slice of cake, and if are looking for a party, the multi-cultural All Hallows Church is rather good at bringing the community together. For people who have come to Greenford to seek shelter and security, the volunteers at Ukranian Refugee Support offer both expertise and provide compassionate support.

Greenford’s community continues to flourish, with Greenford Quays standing out as one of the borough’s most significant new developments. Situated near Greenford tube station, it provides lifelong homes and hosts a calendar of events to foster connections between new residents and the established community.

Your Voice,Your Town is designed to build on the community wealth that already exists in Greenford, by bringing people, voluntary and faith groups, schools and businesses together, to work hand in hand on the issues that are most important to you.
