Volunteering – Parks

We’re better together – learn new skills, make friends and give back to your local community

Want to get more involved in your community? Through active parks,  you can help care for the parts of our borough we all love – our local parks and green spaces. Better yet, why not get your friends and family together to get involved – after all, when we make the most of our combined resources we are better together.

Start your own friends group

Do you have an idea for volunteering? You can set up a Friends Group of your own just like Friends of Horsenden Hill or Friends of Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery and Walpole Park. Setting up a group to help support a local park or green space is easy when you have support. From developing a committee structure to risk assessment and funding, we can give you all the necessary information and support you will need to create your own group for your local park or green space. Contact us for more information: parks@ealing.gov.uk

Don’t forget, to grow your group and attract new members, you will need to find ways to promote your events and activities. We have found one of the most effective ways to do this is to create a Facebook page for your group. The Ealing Wildlife group was independently set up purely through setting up a Facebook page and now has attracted a large amount of members.

Corporate volunteering

We offer volunteering opportunities in Ealing for companies to help employees experience the benefits of working outdoors, by contributing to the management and protection of local wildlife. Team building activities will give your staff the opportunity to learn new skills, motivate team development  and lead to better team working relationships. Through spending a day with us we can also guarantee a fun day out, fresh air, exercise and a life-enhancing experience enjoying working in Ealing’s green spaces. For more information on our packages and to discuss your individual requirements contact us via parks@ealing.gov.uk

Where can I volunteer now?

Interested in participating? There are already several organisations and groups that currently look after a variety of green spaces across Ealing.

Check out the below list of opportunities for you to learn new skills, meet new friends, keep fit, enjoy the great outdoors and do something positive to help your local environment.
